After a long time in the making, I'm incredibly proud to announce that for the first time, there will be a woollentwine countdown calendar this year.

Since we all know its a big project with lots of details to be clarified and organized, I have set up this little info page for you to reference when considering to order a calendar.

A countdown calendar is meant to accompany with joyous moments during the last weeks of the year, leading up to the festive celebrations.

If you are new to the concept and would like an in-depth overview of what this is all about, I have recorded a full video where I chat you through all the details.

theme + inspiration

The calendar project is inspired by the term "heirloom", representing the sharing of knowledge and passion especially through crafts, building connections through time and patience.

The theme will carry through all components of the calendars and as a traditional heirloom quilt connects humans through a craft, I hope it will remind ourselves of our connections and shared passion.

tiers + pricing

The countdown calendar will be available in different tiers and yarn bases. I'll summarize the different tiers below for you:

- 24x 20g mini skeins - 234€
- 12x 20g mini skeins - 127€
- 4x 120g sock sets - 165€
- 4x 100g spinning fibre - 97€

There are different base options aswell as add ons to be read about further down.

The bases available are Heirloom 4ply and Ovis Sock, aswell as some spinning fibre of the Heirloom fibre blend.

The sock set tier is only available in Ovis Sock and the fibre tier is only available in the Heirloom blend. The mini skein tiers are available in both base options.

add ons + packaging

Every calendar comes with a few goodies carefully curated by me. Some are physical treats, some non-material!

You can also add full, undyed skeins of the corresponding yarn bases at a reduced price.

I will wrap everything carefully and present it in a special box that can be reused afterwards. All packaging will be plastic free and from recycled materials.

timings and dates

Preorders for all tiers launch on the 6th of September at 8pm CET. Newsletter suscribers get early access and can preorder from 6pm CET on so I warmly invite you to sign up!

Production will start right after and the advents will ship end of October/early November.

payment + shipping

You can choose whether to pay in full or in two installments. If you choose to pay in installments, there will be 50% initial payment and another automatic withdrawal for the other half at the beginning of October.

All advents ship via UPS for international orders and are fully tracked and insured. For domestic orders, you can choose between UPS or DHL.

frequently asked questions

Are the colours arranged to be a fade?

No, the range of shades will be a typical representation of my botanically dyed palette but not designed to be knitted into a fade.

Due to the general nature of plant dyes and my personal way of combining them, there will be a cohesive palette of colours that should be easy to combine with each other.

Other than that, you'll have to trust me a little with this :)

Will there be solids or variegated colours?

Since I know it can depend on personal preference whether you enjoy solids or multicolours more, I wanted to have an option for both.

So the 12x 20g minis will contain only solids while the 24x20g tier will also contain variegated shades.

The sock set tier might also contain a few mulicoloured options aswell as the fibre option (fibres don't dye solidly for me so they will all have a bit of variation).

What can I make with the mini skeins?

There are plenty of beautiful inspirational patterns out there for what can be done lots of smaller amounts of different colours of yarn.

So each calendar will come with a curated list of inspirational projects that I will select carefully.

Please note there is no pattern included in the countdown calendar boxes.

Can I add full skeins?

Yes, that is totally possible. You can add full skeins in the undyed shades available from each bases at a reduced price.

Available shades on Ovis Sock:
- Undyed Ecru
- Undyed Grey

However, please note that you can not add any skeins from current stock since advents are preorders and ship separately from in-stock orders.

How much are the add on skeins?

Undyed skeins can be added at a discount. Ovis Sock Add on Skeins are 25€ each, Heirloom 4ply is 24€ per skein.

What add ons/goodies can I expect?

I believe that part of the fun of these kind of calendars is the surprising factor, so I'm not sharing too many details.

However, I know it can be overwhelming to receive a ton of items you won't really use. This is why I decided to keep the goodies to a minimum and not only add physical goods but also some non-material ones that come directly from myself to you. I hope you'll love it!

Can I cancel my preorder or return the calendar?

Please note that production starts right after the preorder is placed and each calendar is made to order.

This means that you receive a personalized product that can not be returned.

I am happy to help you make an informed decision about your order so please feel free to email me at hello@woollentwine.com beforehand with all questions or concerns you might have. I'll answer as quickly as I can.

However, once an order is placed it can not be cancelled nor returned so please think through whether you are sure about purchasing.

How long will preorders be open?

I will keep the preorders open until I reach my production capacity. Due to the fact that this is a very labour intensive product I'm putting lots of love and care into, I have to limit it to a manageable amount.

Therefore it is always good to consider place your preorder asap.

Can I order from the US?

Yes! I ship with UPS and am able to also collect the duties caused by the new reciprocal tariffs at checkout.

You will be able to pay everything up front so there are no hidden charges or additional import cost upon arrival of the parcel.

The fees will be approximately 15% of the value of goods. If you would like an estimate of the duties for your order prior to the launch, don't hesitate to reach out at hello@woollentwine.com and I'll happily help you calculate the exact amount.
